Questions about official Smith County criminal records belong with the government office that created or keeps the file. In Tyler, felony, misdemeanor, booking, and archived records use different counters. Statewide criminal-history questions go to Texas DPS. This contact page identifies those official routes and also explains the limits of this private reference site.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately run reference site cannot retrieve a record, conduct an official check, correct or remove data, or receive an expunction filing. Contact the appropriate Smith County or Texas office for those services.

No single Smith County counter holds every criminal record. The sheriff handles sheriff-created reports and booking material, while each clerk keeps its own court files. County public-information requests may be submitted through the official county route, but judicial records must go to the clerks.
